Black Country Beats Exhibition
Wolverhampton Art Gallery Spring 2022
A brand new exhibition of all things musical will begin at the Wolverhampton Art Gallery this spring . Beginning on May 7th the Black Country Beats exhibition will celebrate the undeniable contribution that the Black Country has made to the world of music since 1970.
This of course means that the music and memorabilia of Slade will be very much in evidence with the Lea family donating items for the duration of the event, including the much sought after Slade In England 'Pepper Poster', a copy of which was given to both Jim and Frank Lea. Frank, who stood in for drummer Don Powell in 1973 while he recovered from injuries sustained in a very serious road traffic accident, has allowed his poster to be loaned to the exhibition. Pictured recently following some promotional filming are Slade super historian and friend of Slade In England, Chris Selby, the curator of the exhibition Roma Piotrowska, and of course Jim Lea himself. The event begins on 7th May and will run until the 4th September at the Wolverhampton Art gallery in Lichfield street. For more information and to visit the officcial website....click here!
