Big hope lies in 'Genesis'
Tony Baba, Wolverhampton Express and Star, 01 May 1969
Current talking point in the London hip circle is the first release by Wolverhampton group Ambrose Slade formally The In Betweens.
Their record “Genesis” will be on general release tomorrow. It is an exciting blues soul number, combining with the group’s progressive music talent.
The number, which also features bassist James Whild Lea’s violin playing is self penned as is the B-side, ‘Roach Daddy.’
Both numbers are taken from an L.P. due for release later this month under the title “Beginnings” on the Fontana recording label.
The group’s strong local following is sure to give the record a good start but whether or not it will reach the national charts will depend on the generosity of the radio and TV DJs will be giving it plugs.
