Slade's Music press articles of note
1976
Whatever happened to Slade? seemed like a decent question to ask during 1976, maybe even a good name for a comeback album at some point in the future! .
Slade's UK fanbase had waned in the UK as the band were still flogging the proverbial dead horse trying to crack America without much success. America however was to help them produce their most accomplished work to date in the form of the outstanding and criminally underrated LP 'Nobody's Fools'
The band released a few singles, including cuts from the LP and Let's Call It quits, a blatant reworking of 'Brickyard Blues' was a minor hit. The band turned up here and there to promote the singles but no tour was forthcoming.
In Britain the looooooong hot summer of 76 came along and Slade? out of sight and out of mind......
